As 2021 came to a close, I reflected on the year that past. My outlook was not of the world falling apart or COVID is ruining everything (not debating anything, a lot of horrible things happened this past year), but an outlook of hope, thankfulness, and excitement.
The one thing that stands out for me this past year was I became a business owner of Re-Nu Fitness Training! This move was not something I wanted to do! I hated the idea of venturing into a business by myself! I have been a business owner in the past and I failed. I didn’t want to travel down the same road of defeat with something that I thought I was at least half way descent at doing. I was ready to retire from fitness training and get a job working at Amazon. I was frustrated, confused, scared, but I knew I had to do something because I have a growing family. I’m crying out to God “what do you want me to do” !
I prayed, I consulted my circle of people I confide in, and meditated on it all! Yes, the fear was very real and very present. From what I have learned in my past, when fear is present, you don’t run from it but you run towards it with reckless abandonment. I chose and continue to choose to train and do it the way God wants me to do it.
Its not my business, its his! I maybe the CFO but God is definitely the CEO of this corporation which is why I’m no longer afraid, I’m not alone in my walk!
My assignment is bigger than just being a personal trainer. My assignment is to help people who no longer want to be afraid of failure, to stand by those who are willing to walk by faith and not by sight, and create a society of people who know their worth and are no longer willing to settle for the status quo. In addition to all of that, I’m going to help you look good in the process!
This January our life goals will hit different! No RESOLUTIONS here, we’re making PROMISES! It was my community that encouraged me to keep fighting and grinding (shout out to Ivory, Jess, and Tina for our online workouts).
We all have set backs, but it doesn’t mean we have to settle for wherever we land. For this holiday season, let’s challenge ourselves to become better individuals, to feel better inside and out, and to look better. During these 6 weeks we will teach you how to mindfully eat, challenge your body physically, and build a new community of cheerleaders to root you on.

REPOST from our very own @s.nu15: This is REALLY out of my comfort zone, but my desire is to inspire at least one person. These are my progress photos - June to now. My reality check came after a trip to Vegas in May - the more I saw photos of myself, the more unhappy I was. I let myself go. Yes, I could blame the pandemic, being a newly wed and just enjoying life. However, I needed to take responsibility that my weight gain was my own doing.
I began working out again and eating my macros once my husband thought of opening his own personal training business (what is now @re_nu_fitness). Prior, I simply did not have the motivation. I used working from home and a “busy” schedule as excuses, despite how much my husband (and personal trainer, lol) tried to encourage me. I was not in the right state of mind.
With @re_nu_fitness, I began to follow the formula that my husband created. As you can see in the 1st and 2nd photos, most of my weight carries around my mid-section (I know a lot of women can relate). I felt like I looked like a woman who should have given birth, except I have not been pregnant! In the 3rd photo, I can see some definition in my arms popping in. I broke back into the high 130s a few weeks ago, as I had been in the mid 140s for months. If I remember correctly, I was 145-147 lbs in Vegas.
Although sometimes I wish I had a high metabolism like others, I realize the work I am putting in allows me to appreciate the process much more - I am able to reap the benefits of my determination, my husband’s confidence in me, and God’s will. A few years ago, my weight loss came fast. This time around is a lot slower (#hello30). It took me time to realize that slow progress IS progress - and that is okay! It may take months, a year or so to get to where I want to be, but I will get there. (CONT’D)

We are hosting RE-NU Fitness Training’s FIRST boot camp session on Saturday, August 7th 8:30am at Cooper River Park in Pennsauken, NJ. We will meet at the track next to the children’s playground. Be ready for a 45-min workout!
Afterwards, we will meet at King’s Christian School in Cherry Hill (5 Carnegie Plz, Cherry Hill, NJ 08003) at 9:30am for an additional light workout session.
Please be advised that we will have a photographer capturing the sessions!
If it rains/storms on Saturday, we will only be meeting at King’s Christian School at 9:30am.
